Becoming a mentee

The success of the mentoring depends on the mentee’s personal contribution. Your commitment and perseverance are required throughout the entire process. The FAUmentoring program ARIADNEphil does not offer ready-made solutions to your career questions. Rather, it is designed to enable you to develop individual strategies as part of career workshops, in a peer network or together with your mentor.

Sucess factors: proactive dasign of mentoring process, ambition to achieve the goals set, prepare for and follow up on meetings, giving & receiving feedback, willingness to be self-critical, confidentiality, reliability, appreciation Barriers: sense of entitlement, expectation of "ready-made solutions", lack of distance (topics too private), no assumption of responibility, violation of confidentiality & unreliability
