Mentoring is an effective instrument for personnel development—especially with regard to gender equality.
Within FAUmentoring ARIADNE, the role of mentors is to share their own professional experiences as researchers with mentees and to individually support the further development of their career paths. The focus lies on generating perspectives, strategic planning, implementing concrete steps, and providing access to networks.
Mentees are supported in developing their academic identity. Mentors stand by them in solidarity as role models and reflective partners, for example in situations involving decisions or transitions.
In addition, mentoring also contributes to organizational development with respect to equality. Mentors act as multipliers for gender-equitable organizational change.
To ensure successful mentoring relationships, FAUmentoring ARIADNE provides an accompanying support program.
